In interest of South Sudan, at St. Olaf college.

I attended the South Sudan Crisis Forum, held at St. Olaf College this past month,

January 2014. I had heard about this forum by way student

representatives who had a “music booth” set-up in the Buntrock Commons

student center of St. Olaf College. Their incredible compassion for the crisis and
gratefulness towards my interest, inspired me to attend.

At the Forum:
It was brought to my attention that with the new government ruler
taking position in South Sudan, a unrest has arisen, and crisis has ensued with the

death of around 10,000 people.

At the forum, witnesses to the murder of innocent people in South Sudan

spoke of their experiences, while St. Olaf students listened. Professors offered

their insight into conflict and peacekeeping process, and brought ideas to the table

on how to help.
